I reached out to Kelsey because I wanted to focus on being a much faster and efficient runner and just knew that nutrition was going to be important. I was worried that without the right guidance, I may not eat enough or would eat foods that taste great but do not give me the proper nutrition.

My biggest challenges prior to working with Kelsey were 1. Knowing what a balanced meal looked like, and 2. How the caloric intake must change with level of activity.

My biggest frustration with my nutrition was not being able to understand why 2,000 calories of any food just did not make me feel strong and healthy. I love most foods but like many I would choose a pint of Hagen Daz over a bowl of cherries. Now, it is the opposite. I realize how much better I perform with the latter and am willing to make the sacrifice for better run times.

Success meant being able to gradually lose extra weight while getting stronger. In the past, I had tried Medical Weight Loss and it was terrible with severe carb restrictions that would have never allowed me to run many miles.

I have improved my running substantially. My pace has increased by at least 2 minutes per mile and I am now starting to feel like I can go much faster—and I am almost 50! I hope to slay times in my age group soon!

If you are considering reaching out to Meteor Nutrition, I would say exactly this: If you want to learn how to use food for performance and health, then you have to work with someone that can relate to your level of activity and also knows macros and micros well. Kelsey, being an elite distance runner and dietitian, has such a background and can use it to guide others like myself that specialize in something completely unrelated.
