FAQs

Q: Do you make me a meal plan?

A: While a lot of people feel that a meal plan would finally simplify their eating, in reality, this wouldn’t be effective long term. Your nutrient needs as an athlete are dynamic, we want you to eat a large variety of foods, and most importantly we want you to be able to independently decide what/when/ how much to eat based off of the education we provide you with. For example, what happens when you decide to train for a 100k and you’re tired of chicken, sweet potatoes, and green beans? Upon working together, we will give educate you on how food works and the best implementation to meet your goals and together we will come up with strategies to achieve that. We want you to have the tools to fuel yourself for life!

Q: Can I purchase a one time consultation?

A: With the exception of our Race Day Strategy 1 hour call, we do not offer single services . The reason is we feel the most sustainable changes are when we do spend enough time throughly assessing your health, athletic demands, and eating behaviors so we can implement interventions that make sense. Research suggests that making over 2-3 changes at a time greatly decreases the likelihood that you will be consistent with anything. Therefore, our method is to start with the biggest priority areas and develop habits between appointments that will make changes more durable.  We have been developing eating behaviors over the course of an entire lifetime , so it is going to take more than an hour to really positively influence how we sustainably fuel our bodies. We want to deliver services we feel confident will make our clients have the best sports nutrition possible.

Q: Are these services right for you?

A: In my opinion, if you are out moving, you are an athlete with specific nutrition demands! We would be honored to help you align your nutrition with your health and active goals.

Q: Do you take health insurance?

A: Unfortunately, the structure of how health insurances reimburse for nutrition services does not align with the level of care we think our clients deserves. We would prefer to be as thorough as needed with our clients, and the structure of insurance reimbursement for nutrition services is a limiting framework. However, we can create a super-bill that is the responsibility of the client to submit to their insurance for reimbursement for several states we are licensed in. Also, we can accept HSA and FSA for payment.
